The Dashboard Bar is a rectangular bar which appears at the top of the desktop. The Dashboard toolbar contains the usual icons such as the favorites, the clock, the control center, the history etc. The Dashboard bar also contains some extra tools which you can use to customize your computer display. The Dashboard can be customized or modified using the tools in the Dashboard palette. To add a widget to the right click on the tile of the desktop. Then you will see a list of widgets which are available for your use. The selected widget will be displayed under the category of widgets. The widget you want to add to the Dashboard will be listed and the name will be added to the end of the name list. If you want to delete a widget just right click it and select delete from the pop up menu. To add a widget to your Dashboard, first click on the Add widget button. A new window will open and a wizard will appear. The wizard shows you various ways in which you can add a widget to your Dashboard. Select the text box and fill the required information. Next click on the Save button to put the new widget in your Dashboard. If you want to have styling options for your Dashboard then you need to modify the code. Right click on the " averaging report" and click on modify. In the new window that opens enter the data that you would like to average. Then select the style that you would like to apply and click OK. Now let us look at how to change styling choices for the dashboard. To modify styling choices you need to modify the "Js styler" code. Open the Styling Choices Editor by clicking on the "Js" drop down menu at the bottom right of the screen and selecting " Styles". Then click on "New Style" to open the new style. Use the arrow keys to move through the available styling choices and use the faders to change the values. Notice that you are now able to alter styling choices for your report containers and widgets. The code looks like this: Now change the values of the default values in the widget that you want to show. Notice that the shadow behind the graph is now invisible when the value has been changed to the left. This is because the default value for that widget has been set to the empty string. You can change the default value to the value that you desire. You can even combine two different types of styling changes. You can change the Default Shadow color to the color you want, and then use a Dropshadow Color to alter the appearance of the shadow. Just add a second dropshadow to the widget that you are using to display the shadow. Finally, add a Custom CSS Style under the References column in the Project view pane. This will allow you to reference any other properties that you have defined within the css file that use the same dropshadow color or custom styling. This gives you a simple way to make your dashboards look more professional. Just make sure that all of the default values in the reports are shown in the report container. If not, you should define a new custom dropshadowenabled property for each value. Just be sure that it refers to the same value as the Default Shadow value so that the information does not overlap. The last step is to apply the styling to your individual widgets. All of your custom dashboard bars should now be able to be styled just like any other dashboard in your organization. Use a toolbar on the top navigation bar for these widgets, or the built-in ones found on the bottom navigation bars.
