If you're new to XLCubed Dashboards or even if you have used it before then you might be wondering exactly how to create both user-friendly and informative dashboard layouts. First of all, you might want to take a look at the default layout which is the one included with XLCubed. It's a fairly standard four column layout but there are plenty of layouts that you can change according to your preferences. If you need a totally custom dashboard then here are some tips to guide you. Customizing your XLCubed dashboard widgets could be very helpful if you like to create bar charts, pie charts or any kind of chart that requires lots of data to be presented clearly. If you have created your own customized widgets you will need to find the same data in multiple places. One example would be if you have a database of sales data and you want to present it in a graph then you'll need to find the sales data in the dashboard widgets, title text area and then the data source. The data source could be another dashboard widget or a data table. If you want to change the layout of your chart then there is also an easy way to do this. All you have to do is open up the dashboard and click on the "View" link next to the word "Panel". This will take you to a new page where you can change all the options for the charts that you are currently viewing. This works the same way for changing the appearance of bar charts. You can even select the color of your graphs and the size of the bars in the dashboard editor. The same goes for pie charts. You can change the style of your pie chart by changing the color and size of each bar. You can even change the shape of the pie bar charts. When you change these options then all you have to do is click on the " recalculate" link next to the title of your pie chart. This will recalculate the value of the selected point on the chart. Another common data presentation format for a dashboard is the pane bar charts. You'll see these in most of the Windows OS because they are so widespread. These are line charts with many different shapes and sizes within the pane. There are separate panes for the top, bottom and left panes. It looks like you are looking at four separate windows! You can switch between the four panes using the arrows on the lower right corner of the pane. The last presentation format for a dashboard is the exit zoom mode, as indicated by the small arrow underneath the title. This will zoom out the entire view. You will see all the information for every cell in the specified range. You can change the range by clicking on the range control. The default value is 100. The data can be navigated through the dashboard by using the keyboard shortcuts that are commonly referred to as navigation bar. Most systems use the Windows sidebar to provide this. All you have to do is open the Start Menu, then type in "dashboard". A new window will be displayed and you can select the "dashboard" shortcut that is typically located on the desktop. You can also create your own customized bar charts and dashboard views by using the Microsoft Excel 2021 default bar charts and dashboard views. You can use the Power Point template for this. Creating your own bar charts and customizing them for your specific needs and requirements is easily done. All you need is to have an ability to enter text, a bit of imagination, and you are on your way to making a great presentation! |
